While iPadOS does not provide a native extended display mode for Jamzone, you can still make another person see exactly what you see on stage by using screen mirroring. This article explains how to mirror your screen during performances.

Use screen mirroring

While iPadOS does not provide a native “extended display” mode for Jamzone, you can still make another person see exactly what you see on stage by using screen mirroring.

  1. Choose a mirroring method
    • Connect a small external monitor via USB
    • Use a screen-mirroring app like Smart Mirror | TV & Device (same Wi-Fi required)
    • Connect an HDMI cable to another screen (optionally with an HDMI splitter)
    • Use wireless HDMI transmitters
    • Use a USB-C hub with HDMI outputs and enable screen mirroring in your iPad’s Display settings
  2. Connect your iPad to the second screen

Plug in the cable or hub, or start the mirroring app depending on the option you chose.

  3. Enable screen mirroring (if required)

Open your iPad’s Display / Screen Mirroring settings and select the external screen or receiver.

  4. Launch Jamzone and start playing

The second screen will display exactly the same content as your iPad (chords and lyrics, sections, playback position, key and tempo).

Tips

  • For live performances, prefer wired solutions (HDMI cable or USB-C hub) whenever possible, as they are more stable than Wi-Fi-based mirroring.
  • If you experience latency or dropped frames, close other apps running in the background on your iPad.
